Mistake 2: Overwhelming the Visitor with Options

This is called "choice paralysis." When visitors are presented with too many options, they get overwhelmed and do nothing.

Asking for a phone number, company name, and address will significantly lower your conversion rate. Also, make sure your button text is specific and benefit-driven, such as "Get My Free Guide Now," instead of a generic "Submit."


Mistake 5: Failing to Follow Up


You've done the hard work of getting a lead. But what happens next? For most businesses, the answer is silence. This is a massive mistake. A lead is "hot" for about 72 hours, and a lack of immediate follow-up lets them go cold.

  • The Fix: Automate an immediate follow-up sequence. Set up a series of automated emails that welcome them, provide more value, and build a relationship over a few days. Don't wait to sell; use this sequence to establish trust and authority, making a future purchase a natural next step.
